Truth is a function, not a value

Truth is a process, not a thing. It is the process of unfolding that is truth, not the thing that is revealed. For an individual human being, the present becomes a memory. The memory is not the experience itself, but a sculpture in the mind left behind by time, woodpecker.

Ideal and ethical life is not the practice of truthful conversation or honest behaviour. More than in supposed objectivity, truth exists in the artistic performance of survival, which by itself is a mundane, all-consuming instinct. If life is a state of play, truth is an invisible rule, the deepest navigator, the decision-maker. We do not seek the truth, we make up the truth as we play along, just as we make up the lies. Blogging in that sense, is performative utterance, it is role-play.
...

Truth for a human being is merely a state of consensus, akin to universal pragmatism, between his many senses and faculties. It is the noun and the verb simultaneously, like "flower". Truth and time are the same, the interval between the observer and the observed, the gravity between the sun and its planets.

Don't tell the truth what its like, or what it should be. How can truth be the yardstick of a civilisation whose biggest asset is imagination and fantasy?

Great post.. But what about absolute physical truths - properties of chemical reactions and physical movements

Truth could easily be a template which forms at impressionable age. Which is offset on the basis of experiences gathered over years

But what about absolute physical truths - properties of chemical reactions and physical movements.

Properties of "chemical reactions" and "physical movements"?

I don't think you are familiar with much chemistry or physics, no offence meant.

Try relativity. But don't stop there. Try Heisenberg. Then go nuts like me.

I won't even bother responding to such a vulgar, not to mention Freudian, simplification.

I just did, didn't I? Phew..

Truth is a process, not a thing. It is the process of unfolding that is truth, not the thing that is revealed.

Truth is nothing, and everything else comes out of it. the process itself is not truth for it can not be, process is also a thing..

thats illusion.

confusion of feeling for emotion, emotion for happiness, happiness for pleasure and it goes on.

If life is a state of play, truth is an invisible rule, the deepest navigator, the decision-maker. We do not seek the truth, we make up the truth as we play along, just as we make up the lies.

truth can not be the decision maker, for thats an acivity and that would mean making up truth.

Truth is not even a function. Its value-less value. function comes out of truth but is not truth itself.

Truth is nothing, and everything else comes out of it.

You mean that truth is a singularity on which the multiplicity of everything is carefully ( or with divine innocence) balanced.

the process itself is not truth for it can not be, process is also a thing..

A river is not merely molecules of water. Trees and civilisations settle around a river. A river grows by feeding its molecules to its surrounding emptiness.

If you can call a river a thing by merely giving it a name, a category called "things", there is no reason for life to exist.

thats illusion.

I disagree. Memory is but the reconstruction of an imagined future. It's simply packet-switching :)

truth can not be the decision maker, for thats an acivity and that would mean making up truth.

I hope this is not a debate between determinism and ludic behaviour, because then we could argue all the time without needing to arrive at any resolution.

well if truth is nothing, there is nothing called singularity or multiplicity. its nothing. yes thats an ideal for there always is something. and even singularity and multiplicity are relative. nothing is the ideal of subtlety. how subtle can subtle be, it can be nothing, process has attributes again relative, truth is truth, no different for a human being for there can not be a limited truth, just like there can be no limit subtlety. infinity is the opposite which comes out of the subtle, just like a tree out of a seed, seed is not the truth, truth is subtler and subtler it gets closer it gets to being nothing.

TRUTH and SEEKER can not exist co-together.
